The Roving Lass Beanie

Crochet hook size I -5.50mm (Size K – 7.00mm if using roving)

Yarn:  2oz of any yarn or roving.  Yarn pictured above is Handpainted Hemp/Wool Yarn  from Angora Cottage.  (Left Saddlewood, Right Starry Night, Bottom is done in Autumn Merino/Silk Roving)

Beanie is worked in the round.

Abbr:

ch - chain

hd- half double crochet

sl st- slip stitch

hd2tg – half double two together (decrease stitch)

Ch 4; sl st in first chain st to join.

Rnd 1: Ch 1, 9 hd in loop, sl st in top of ch1 to join.

Rnd 2: Ch 1, hd in same as chain, 2 hd in each st around, join.

Rnd 3: Ch 1, hd in next 2 st, (2 hd in next st, hd in next 3 st) around, join.

Rnd 4: Ch 1, hd in next 4 st, (2 hd in next st, hd in next 5 st) around, join.

Rnd 5: Ch 1, hd in next 6 st, (2 hd in next st, hd in next 7 st) around, join.

Rnd 6: Ch 1, hd in next 8 st, (2 hd in next st, hd in next 9 st) around, join.

Rnd 7: Ch 1, hd in next 10 st, (2 hd in next st, hd in next 11 st) around, join.

Rnd 8: Ch 1, hd in next 12 st, (2 hd in next st, hd in next 13 st) around, join.

Rnd 9: Ch 1, hd in next 14 st, (2 hd in next st, hd in next 15 st) around, join.

Rnd 10: Ch 1, hd in next 16 st, (2 hd in next st, hd in next 17 st) around, join.

Rnd 11: Ch 1, hd in next 18 st, (2 hd in next st, hd in next 19 st) around, join.

Rnd 12: Ch 1, hd in next 20 st, (2 hd in next st, hd in next 21 st) around, join.

Rnd 13 - 19: Ch 1, hd in each st around, join.

Rnd 20 - 21: Ch 1, hd in next 9 st, (hd2tg, hd in next 10 st) around, join.

Rnd 22 - ?: Ch 1, hd in each st around, join.

Weave in ends.
